ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dozens of people ran through the trails at Beaver Lake Park on Sunday. Runners were competing in the Upstate Chiropractic Beaver Lake Run.
The run is a little different from the typical Central New York race. For young athletes, it can be a good tune up for the fall sports season ahead.
"It provides a nice opportunity for high school cross country runners to get kind of a pre-season trail run in. It provides an experience different from most road races because this is a true trail run. It's not quite as fast as the roads, but it's a lot more scenic environment than some of our local road races have," said Jim Goulet.
Proceeds from the race go towards the friends of the Beaver Lake Nature Center to support activities based at the park.
