CENTRAL NEW YORK -- State Route 31 in the Town of Clay is closed while workers repair the railroad tracks near the Caughdenoy Road intersection.
Route 31 is scheduled to be closed Monday and Tuesday while the work is underway.
Interstate 81 northbound in Syracuse is back open. All detours have been lifted for drivers. Construction crews had been replacing bridges on that stretch of the highway.
The speed limit on I-690 near the fairgrounds drops from 65 to 55 miles per hour as of Monday.
DOT officials said it's not only to warn people of the higher volume of traffic, but also to account for the temporary signal which will be place on 690 to control traffic flow out of the upper parking lot.
The speed limit will remain at 55 miles per hour through the last day of the fair, which is Labor Day.
