BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – A Syracuse man has been arrested in connection with a Saturday morning stabbing in Binghamton, but police are still looking for other people who were involved.
Authorities say they first were called to UHS Binghamton General Hospital at 12:30 a.m. Saturday where a man was being treated for a stab wound. By the time they arrived, the victim, Jermal Folks, 30, of Johnson City, had already been released.
About three hours later, a double stabbing was reported on Double Day Street. Witnesses told police that at least five men entered a home and stabbed Calvin Slater, 23. Another man went to confront the group and wound up also being attacked.
Abdoul Balume, 30, of Syracuse, was arrested in connection with the second stabbing. He is facing a charge of assault.
