SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University welcomes 3,900 first year and transfer students to campus. Most of the students arrived Wednesday, with the rest moving in on Thursday.
Hundreds of student and staff volunteers greeted them and lugged thousands of boxes and bags to help students get settled into their home away from home.
"It's kind of weird saying bye to all your friends and going home. I've lived in the same house for 18 years, so it's going to be strange moving in and meeting all new friends and stuff," freshman Jeff Feirstein said.
All freshmen and transfer students will be participating in several events and experiences to help them get acclimated and ready for the fall semester.
