VESTAL, N.Y. -- A handful of lucky Binghamton University students and staff now have their hands on tickets to President Obama's town hall meeting.
The emails went out Wednesday afternoon alerting people that they had won. The ticket giveaway was organized through an online lottery system.
BU received some criticism for limiting the audience to only students, faculty and staff, however university officials say that decision was made by the White House.
As for those people who did end up winning, they couldn't be more excited.
"When I saw the post about him coming to Binghamton, I'm like oh that's really cool, I probably won't get to see him because it's move in day, but I'm really excited now," junior Evelyn Chevere said.
"How often do you get to see a president live? You see him on TV, that's no big deal, but to actually be in the same room as him, that's exciting!" senior Nicole Caballero said.
White House officials will be handing out tickets to winners again on Thursday. Friday's event is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. and you can watch it live on YNN.
