SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Former Green Party Congressional candidate Ursula Rozum was escorted out of Henninger High School during President Obama's speech. She was hoping to divert the President's focus from education to the fate of former Fort Drum soldier, Private Bradley Manning.
"Could I just say as hecklers go, that young lady was very polite. She was and she brought up an issue of importance and that's what America is all about," Obama said.
"It's rare that anyone has the ear of the President and he has the power to pardon Private Manning, otherwise he's going to be in jail for 35 years. So at this point, if someone we know was in jail for telling the truth to exposing U.S. government war crimes, we have to use every venue we have to tell the President that he needs to pardon Manning," Rozum said.
