ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Eight dogs were taken from a home in Elmira.
Animal control officers checked on an unoccupied home on Oak Street after hearing that several dogs were left alone inside.
Eight mixed breed dogs were found in very serious condition. They were removed and are receiving treatment.
Following an investigation, three people were arrested. Rose Seymour and William Seymour, both 57, were both charged with eight counts of animal cruelty and one count of unsanitary conditions.
Rose Seymour faces additional charges, including seven counts of failure to license dogs and failure to provide rabies vaccination.
Tina Seymour, 38, has also been charged with one count of failure to license dog and failure to provide rabies vaccination.
