ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Sentencing has been delayed for the former North Country town supervisor who embezzled town funds.
The state Attorney General's office says Susan Smith embezzled more than $35,000 from the Town of Pitcairn.
Smith made unauthorized payments to herself and others from town accounts at Community Bank NA, where she also worked as a branch manager. She then is said to have produced false paperwork showing she had credited the money back to the town.
Smith pleaded guilty to third degree grand larceny earlier this month. Her sentencing has been rescheduled for September 5th.
