NEW YORK STATE FAIR -- It's an annual competition that takes place on Dairy Day every year. The Open Holstein Show in the Coliseum showcases dairy cattle from across the state.
Cows are judged on physical qualities, including height, weight, build and structure.
One competitor from St. Lawrence County says the show takes a lot of preparation.
"No matter how much work you put in at the show while you're here, if you don't put in the work while you're home, it doesn't pay off," said Renee Pierick.
