BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police have identified the man killed in an accident involving a railroad worker in Broome County. It happened Monday afternoon in Harpursville.
Troopers say Thomas Tarchak, 39, from Simpson, Pennsylvania, worked for Canadian Pacific Railroad. He was in a bucket truck inspecting a rail bridge along State Route 235 when he made contact with a primary NYSEG electric line.
Troopers say the victim was electrocuted immediately.
State Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
