NEW YORK STATE FAIR -- Senior Day at the New York State Fair will continue on Tuesday. That means people 60 and over will still be able to get in free with the proper ID.
After getting in for free, there are a lot of things for seniors to see and learn. One important topic is their health insurance.
Fidelis Care has a booth set up outside the Art and Home Building. They're making sure everyone knows about the new Medicare enrollment season. It begins in October for Medicare Advantage Plans.
And seniors don't have long to exercise their options. The enrollment window is between October 15 and December 7.
"It's very important because this is the only time during the year, unless they have a significant lifestyle change or significant change, that they can actually elect to enroll or disenroll from the plan. What happens this time of year is all the plans will present their benefits. Some of the benefits change, some of the plans change. Some of the formularies change," said Tom Julian, Fidelis Care Marketing Director.
