SOUTHERN TIER -- A man police have called armed and dangerous is now in custody after nearly a two-week search.
Robert Rouille, 33, was arrested at a trailer park in the Town of Chenango in Broome County. Investigators say he was taken into custody without incident after a short standoff.
Rouille was wanted for an attempted armed robbery at a Southport home in Chemung County. Officers tried to arrest Rouille during a traffic stop on Route 352 in Corning, but he was able to escape. Authorities say Rouille was carrying packaged heroin.
Investigators announced a $1,500 reward in the case Tuesday morning which helped lead to Rouille's arrest. He faces charges of robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd. Additional charges are pending in the case
