NEW YORK STATE FAIR -- It was a big day in the Sheep Barn, located right around the corner from the Indian Village. Sunday morning's Open Sheep Show highlighted different types of sheep like Market Lambs, Oxfords and Southdowns. That led up to a best in show style competition Sunday afternoon.
With the help of a passionate announcer, visitors get all the ins and outs of the show.
"Let me talk about the breeds of sheep, because no one's telling the public. It's all about the show and the show ring and we need to educate the public about American farming, about sheep ranching and what it's all about," announcer Tom Colyer said.
