NEW YORK STATE FAIR -- Although attendance at this year's fair did not break any records, there were some fair staples that did exceed a previous record.
The Potato Booth sold more than 54,500 potatoes. The previous record was set in 2008 with nearly 51,000 potatoes sold. The booth's new ordering process may have contributed to this year's success.
Meanwhile, the Rainbow Milk Bar inside the Dairy Building also broke a record. Nearly 410,000 cups of milk were poured during the 12 days of the fair. Broken down, that is more than 2,800 cups of milk poured every day, or 47 cups every minute.
