LENOX TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- According to the National Transportation and Safety Board the burned remains of a plane found in Susquehanna County Sunday morning is the same plane that has been missing since September 2nd.
A World War II twin engine aircraft was found in a corn field in Lenox Township, which is about 40 miles north of its original destination. It took off last Monday in Ohio and was headed for Wilkes-Barre, P.A.
Officials believe there were two people on board, but no further information was released on their identities or condition.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
