OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- Health officials in Oswego County will begin aerial spraying on Monday night.
It is all part of the effort to combat the spread of the EEE Virus. Spraying is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights. The spraying will cover nearly 15,000 acres in Mexico, New Haven, Palermo, Scriba, and Volney through Tuesday.
On Wednesday, an additional 10,000 acres will be sprayed near Toad Harbor and Big Bay Swamp.
People in those areas will be notified ahead of spraying. They are being asked to close your windows, keep your pets inside, and cover any vegetable gardens.
