OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- The next round of aerial spraying in Oswego County is scheduled for this weekend.
Health officials are trying to keep the mosquito population down after pools tested positive for the West Nile virus. They'll be spraying the Toad Harbor/Big Bay Swamp area near the north shore of Oneida Lake. That's set to happen Sunday evening, weather permitting.
People living in the area will be notified of spraying by automated calls from the county 911 Center.
Residents are advised to keep pets indoors, take toys and furniture inside and keep doors and windows closed until 9 p.m. And even after the spraying, health officials say you should keep taking precautions against mosquitoes.
