AMBOY, N.Y. -- A car crashed into a building and caused a fire on Friday night in Amboy.
According to officials, a car drove into the former West Amboy Fire Station. They said the car caught fire and it spread to the building.
Crews on the scene said the fire was difficult to put out because of the material stored inside the building.
"The building is used for storage and it's full of hay. So we had a hard time getting into the building and getting around it," said Dan Forbes, Oswego County Fire Coordinator. "Basically a hay fire is really stubborn and it takes a long time to put out."
Sheriff's deputies said the driver of the vehicle ran away from the scene.
