SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Westcott neighborhood corner has been restored to its former glory.
The University Neighborhood Preservation Association held a Lawn Party Sunday to celebrate the $338,000 exterior transformation of the Babcock Shattuck House. The Queen Anne style house was built in 1895.
The outside work is the first phase of a $1.3 million project to transform the historic house into four luxury condo units.
"The contracts for the interior renovations are going to begin later in the fall and they will begin work on the inside. We're basically going to do some basic work on the inside to put in the mechanicals and prepare the units for final finishing," said University Neighborhood Preservation Association President Joe Russo.
There will be a model unit, then buyers of the remaining three will be able to pick their own finishes.
