ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Utica accountant accused of stealing more than a quarter of a million dollars from an elderly client has pleaded guilty to charges in the case.
Craig Podosek, 60, admitted to transferring more than $294,000 from an 85-year-old woman's account into his own personal and business accounts. The woman, who lives at a local nursing home, noticed the discrepancy and contacted police.
Podosek pleaded guilty to four counts of second degree grand larceny and one count of scheme to defraud. He's scheduled to be sentenced at the end of next month.
