UTICA, N.Y. -- A local church is raising money to help the children who church leaders say are many times forgotten.
Redeemer Church in Utica is bringing in comedian Jim Breuer for a night of comedy on Friday October 11th. Breuer was formerly a cast member on "Saturday Night Live."
All the proceeds from the event will be used to create a state of the art facility for children with autism and other special needs. Classrooms in the church's children's ministry area will be designed to provide those kids with the care they need.
"Anybody that has a child that's battling autism or knows a family battling autism, you know how stressful a time and how stressful that is on those parents. We just want to provide a community that will pray for them, encourage them, give them relationships and also do the same for their children," said Redeemer Lead Pastor Michael Servello.
Tickets are on sale and will not be available at the door. For more information, visit www.redeemer.tv/comedy. To buy tickets, visit www.itickets.com.
