WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- All this week, Cornell Cooperative Extension has been hosting workshops on how the Affordable Care Act could affect you and your business.
Thursday afternoon, about 20 small business owners attended the discussion in Watertown.
The discussion was led by Ashley Pierce, who is an agricultural expert in Rensselaer County. Pierce and others have taken training courses and held monthly meetings to understand the ins and outs of the law that kicks off Tuesday. She says she's hoping to show people what to expect, give them some tips and provide somewhere for people to go in the future with any questions.
"The key points will be trying to help people figure out what they need to comply with the new laws and also things that they could benefit from. For instance, there's tax credits they could utilize. Those are already in place now," said Pierce.
