ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The man who killed his ex-girlfriend's daughter in Oneida County has waived his right to a psychiatric hearing.
David Trebilcock will spend another two years in a psychiatric facility after waiving his right again to a court hearing to determine whether he is still dangerously mentally ill.
Trebilcock was committed following a trial for the stabbing death of Lauren Belius in July 2011. A judge ruled that he was not criminally responsible due to mental disease or defect.
At the trial, a psychiatrist testified Trebilcock believed he was a messenger from God and that the girl was the anti-Christ.
With this latest hearing waived, the judge issued a 22 month retention order, so the next time he can be evaluated is July of 2015.
