AUBURN, N.Y. -- Police in Auburn arrest the man they believe is responsible for a fatal stabbing on Case Avenue.
According to police, they found Matthew Prego laying in the street with multiple stab wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
After searching the area, police arrested Kevin Ritchie, 28. He is charged with second degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and obstructing governmental administration. Ritchie was arraigned in Auburn City Court, and was sent to Cayuga County Jail without bail.
Now, police are asking for more information regarding the incident.
"Anybody else that may have been in the area who may have left before our arrival that we would still need to talk to that may have some good information for us to follow up with in this investigation," said Auburn Police Sergeant Edward Fabrize.
