LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- The Wooden Stick Expo was the first event of the new Skanonh Great Law of Peace Center in Liverpool.
On Saturday, people could learn more about the center, and what it has to offer. The expo also featured wooden stick exhibition games, clinics from the Iroquois Nationals and Onondaga Red Hawks lacrosse teams, stick making demonstrations, and Native American Arts and Crafts.
It was held at Onondaga Lake State Park, and represents historical significance.
"What many people don't realize is that it was a game of lacrosse that brought those five, those five originally five warring nations together in peace. So playing the game here again is really quite remarkable," said Phil Arnold, Wooden Stick Expo Organizer.
The expo was sponsored by Syracuse University, the Onondaga Historical Association, and Skanonh.
