CHITTENANGO, N.Y. -- Animal lovers gathered Sunday for the Wanderers' Rest Canine Classic Dog Walk and Festival. It was held at the Jim Marshall Farm in Chittenango.
The festival featured three parades: A fundraiser walk, a walk that shows off dogs ready to be adopted and a third that shows off alumni animals who have already been adopted.
Lainey's Army, a local animal advocacy group, also joined in on the action.
"They came in support to show a mile of people to raise awareness for the neglect and abuse that happens to dogs and cats in Madison County, who we are overseeing and are guardians of," said Mark Christensen, Wanderers' Rest Executive Director.
The event also featured music, food, raffles and other shows.
