ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A K-9 assisted in the arrest of a burglary suspect Wednesday morning.
Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say they were called to the Sunoco on Court Street for a burglary alarm around 12:30 a.m. Officials say when they arrived, they noticed someone had thrown a cement block through a glass door to get into the store.
Sheriff's deputies were assisted by K-9 Inga, who was able to pick up the scent of the suspect and trace him to Woodlawn Cemetery.
Around 2:15 a.m., Inga found Austin Cavender, 20, of Onondaga, inside one of the mausoleums in the cemetery. He was charged with burglary, criminal mischief and petit larceny.
Deputies believe Cavender stole tobacco products from the Sunoco.
