SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority is reviewing several proposals from companies looking to take over Hancock's concessions operation.
Airport officials have not released how many proposals were submitted, but they say one will be presented to the full board next Friday to receive final approval. The winning company will take over all concessions at the airport, including food, beverage and retail facilities.
"We want to see a mix of concepts, including local, regional and nationally recognized brands, we're looking for really innovative, creative concepts, healthy options for the traveling public, concepts and locations where we currently don't have any restaurants or retail," said Syracuse Aviation Commissioner Christina Callahan.
The new contract will last 15 years and allows the company to run a minimum of 15,000 square feet of concession space, with changes starting in the spring.
