ITHACA, N.Y. -- Two full days of deliberations and there is still no verdict in the Corbin Whyte murder trial.
Whyte is accused of shooting and killing Paul Garcia in the parking lot of an Ithaca apartment complex back in 2010. Whyte is charged with murder, robbery and tampering with physical evidence.
The jury told the judge they were at an impasse on the murder charge and asked to move on, for now, to tampering with evidence. The jury then asked for the definition to determine if it was still tampering if Whyte had someone do it for him.
This is the third time Whyte's fate has been in the hands of a jury. The first two attempts ended in mistrials.
Deliberations will resume Monday morning.
