WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The man who set himself on fire at the national mall Friday afternoon has died.
Just one day after a woman was shot and killed while trying to break through a security barricade with her car, witnesses tell police they saw the man dump a red canister of gasoline on his head, and then set himself on fire.
Joggers took off their shirts to help put out the flames. Police aren't identifying the man, or any possible motive.
They say any identification of the man will have to be done through dental records and DNA.
