HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y.-- Heavy rain forced officials to close roads in the Villages of Herkimer and Mohawk Monday, but many have since reopened.
The majority of the water has receeded, but it did cause some headaches earlier in the day. Emergency crews had to free a few vehicles stranded in the flood water.
Officials say all roads have opened except the intersection at North Bellinger Street and West Albany Street.
Drivers are asked to be careful as DPW crews clear drains of leaves and debris.
