WHITESBORO, N.Y. -- The new common core curriculum, teacher evaluations, and student testing are hot topics statewide.
A crowd of about 1,000 people came to Whitesboro High School to talk with state leaders.
Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi are co-hosting a three part Educational Town Hall series. Monday night was the second event, featuring New York State Education Commissioner, Dr. John King, Jr.
He answered the public's questions about the new higher standards education program.
"I have every confidence in New York State educators. New York State educators in the past have risen to the challenge of higher expectations and I'm sure they and students and families will come together to rise to that challenge again," said Dr. King, Jr.
The Chairman of the State Senate Committee on Higher Education will tour local colleges and universities in the final event, later this week.
