STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Route 15 Expressway in Steuben County has been finished.
Governor Andrew Cuomo said the project was finished for $235 million, $3 million under the project's budget. That highway now runs from Corning to the Pennsylvania border.
The project was completed to federal highway standards, which will allow it to be called Interstate 99 someday. Governor Cuomo says that designation will stimulate tourism and economic growth in the Southern Tier.
The final phase was the construction of six bridges around the Town of Lindley.
