SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- More than 100,000 dirt car racing fans are expected at the New York State Fairgrounds for what's known as the Super Bowl of Dirt Car Racing.
Super Dirt Week 42 will feature several qualifying races and events throughout the week. It all culminates with Sunday's Big Block Modified Series Championship. On Wednesday, fans arrived to the fairgrounds as part of move in day.
Many people take advantage of getting their tickets early, and park their trailers at their favorite spots. Fans said they enjoy meeting other fans from across the country and Canada.
"We get to see all the different families and see everybody's pit crews and it's just a great time," said Cagney Morse, dirt car racing fan.
Ron Parks, another fan, said, "My wife enjoys it, I enjoy it, we enjoy the people that we meet here. I have friends that I see once a year, and I always look forward to it."
