The 41st annual Apple Festival will be held this weekend in LaFayette. As YNN's Brad Vivacqua reports, the popular festival is made possible thanks to several community groups.
LAFAYETTE, N.Y. -- Cider, donuts, fritters, and more can all be found at the 41st annual Apple Festival. More than 450 vendors will be on hand throughout the weekend with food, crafts, and other fall goods.
The festival began in 1973, and has grown into one of the most popular festivals in Central New York. In addition to food and crafts, there are also several children's activities such as rides and contests.
According to organizers, the event has grown so much thanks to the support of local community groups, schools, and churches.
"By combining everything we have here for over the many years, and enjoying all of the wonderful volunteers that come down and help us, we all pull together and it's just a community event that we all appreciate," said Esther LaClair, LaFayette Apple Festival Organizer.
The festival will run from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 per person, and parking is free. For more information, head to www.lafayetteapplefest.org.
