UTICA, N.Y. -- Friday was named 'Leon and Romy Day' in Utica and Oneida County in honor of the two illusionists returning from a stint on 'America's Got Talent.'
Illusionists Leon Etiene and Romy Lowe made it to the semi-finals during 'America's Got Talent' this summer. Local dignitaries welcomed them back at the Stanley Theater Friday.
Leon and Romy just came back from shows in Alaska and Paris.
The duo says the show opened up booking for a lot of dream shows, including one that's close to home.
"For years I did shows around Utica, but most of the shows, I would have to go down Genesee Street to get to where I'm going and as part of dream-building thing I would do, I would drive by and look at the Stanley marquis, and say, 'One day, my name will be there and I'll perform on that stage,'" said Leon.
Romy said the pair, "Will be spending a little bit of time in Central New York to catch up with all of our friends and family and then it is working on reinventing our 'Magic Rocks' stage show in preparation to coming back to perform at the Stanley on February 1st and also getting ready to go back on the road for numerous tours."
Tickets go on sale for their Stanley show on November 1st.
Tickets will be on sale at the MVCC box office, the Stanley box office or online through MVCC.
General admission is $10, admission for MVCC students is $5.
