FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. -- It was the perfect fall day to spend outside and hundreds took advantage of that in Fayetteville.
The 5th annual Trek Women Breast Cancer Awareness ride was held at Green Lakes State Park. One hundred percent of the registration fees go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and proceeds from the bike raffle go to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer research fund of Central New York.
Bicyclist groups across the United States and Canada all took part in the ride Saturday and locally the group continues to grow.
"I would say in the five years we've done it our ride has grown from about 100 riders to close to 500. And people look forward to it and it is just a wonderful testament to what a community can do when they come together," said Event Organizer Trish Dugan.
