EVANS MILLS, N.Y. - Farms across the state opened their doors to the public for the Open Farm Sunday Tour.
North Country families were given the chance to learn more about animals and crops at one of the participating locations in the village of Evans Mills.
Country Cousins Farm is owned by a family that's passionate about the milk they produce.
Sunday was a chance for them to share that passion.
The family showed visitors how much work goes into cleaning and milking their herd of nearly 60 cows.
They also sampled cheeses which were made from the top notch milk.
Country Cousins Farm Owner, Stanley Horning said "We feel like it's important that people know what goes on at a farm. How cows are actually treated and milk's produced. So people can get a chance to come in and see the cows and pet them and just see what it's like in a barn."
Although the Open Farm Sunday Tour has been running for three years now, this year was the Horning Family's first.
