MANLIUS, N.Y. -- A former church treasurer was indicted for embezzlement.
According to a report in the Syracuse Post Standard, Mary Meyer and her husband, John Osborn, have been accused of writing unauthorized checks and making money transfers from the United Methodist Church of Manlius to themselves. The money totaled more than $440,000.
The alleged embezzlement happened between January 2008 and March 2013. The couple has been charged with two counts of second degree larceny, and one count of third degree larceny.
