EVANS MILLS, N.Y. -- The Indian River School District is back to normal after the district locked down all of its schools in response to a threat on Wednesday.
According to the district, a general weapon threat was made against Evans Mills Primary School. The building went into immediate lockdown and police responded to the threat.
The district investigated the claims of the threat, and determined the lockdown was a matter of precaution.
After the inititial investigation, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department told the district it could safely resume activities as normal. The district will continue to control access to the buildings for the time being.
