NORTH UTICA, N.Y. -- Hundreds of people came to North Utica Wednesday evening to enjoy a new treat.
The new Moe's Southwest Grill and Hoopla! Frozen Yogurt officially opened their doors.
For three hours, they held a fundraiser celebration, raising money for Utica City School District's senior class. The money will go towards their prom and winter formal. When people donated $10 towards the cause, they received a meal and a cup of frozen yogurt.
"We always try to give back to the communities. We'll be doing fundraisers every week here, not of this magnitude, but we try and work with the high schools and the church groups and the sports teams and we know without the community, we wouldn't be here, so we try to give back as much as we can," said co-owner Scott Searles.
They were also joined by the CEO of Moe's, Paul Damico. He was featured on an episode of CBS' "Undercover Boss" back in January.
