SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Election Day is only a few weeks away and the folks at Our Lady of Pompei Church are preparing to serve up their annual spaghetti supper.
And what's spaghetti without meatballs? Volunteers are spending their day rolling about 6,000 meatballs for the dinner. This is the church's 64th year holding the supper, which is about more than just serving up a meal.
"It's coming together. It's the community involvement, the parish and the school working together as well as the community. It's good food and what we call una familia," said Lucy Paris, organizer of the supper.
The spaghetti dinner will be run from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. November 5th. The dinner costs $9 for adults, $7 for children 5 and up, and is free for kids under 5.
Take-out and delivery are available and those meals will all be $9.
