SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It is all local and handmade at the fifth annual Salt Market in Syracuse. The event features artists from parts of Syracuse, Ithaca, Oswego and even as far away as Rochester.
The market gives artists a chance to display and sell their creations. The crafts are edgy and unique and span from ceramics to earrings. The co-organizer of the event said she was inspired after visiting craft markets in other cities.
"I'm originally from this area and I lived in New York City for about ten years and returned. And Briana is a very inspiring friend of mine and she's also from Brooklyn. And we just said we just need to bring some type of younger more urban energy and this was the way to do it," said Vanessa Rose, Salt Market Co-Organizer.
The market also includes food, drinks and music and runs until 5 p.m. Saturday.
