SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- This year's Zoo Boo at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo fit its 'kooky not spooky' theme quite well.
The event, which used to be held at night, was held during the day to give kids a chance to enjoy some Halloween fun without the scary factor.
Children got to meet some of the animals, as well as take their picture with a 1,200 pound pumpkin, while also getting some trick or treating in.
"We're excited because in the past, when we've done it in the evening, only part of the zoo was open, so our guests couldn't see all animal exhibits and see animal demonstrations and hear keeper talks. So we're very excited after getting a lot of feedback from our guests and members to be doing it during the day," said Jaime Alvarez, Rosamond Gifford Zoo Director of Public Relations.
Zoo Boo continues Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and also runs next weekend.
