SACKETS HARBOR, N.Y. - There were a few extra animals on Old McDonalds Farm in Sackets Harbor Sunday.
That's because the Jefferson County SPCA brought adoptable cats and a dog to raise awareness about the organization's needs.
Farm visitors checked out the pets and learned about things they can do to help.
The non-profit solely relies on individual donations and fund-raising efforts to stay afloat, one of the reasons why they say they need a lot of help.
"We need folks to raise money. We need folks to spend time cleaning cages, sometimes walking dogs, a whole variety of opportunities at the shelter," said volunteer Dean Chrissley.
A spayed or neutered dog, with all of its proper vaccinations, can be adopted from the S-P-C-A for between $130 and $200.
