SYRACUSE, N.Y. -Food and toiletries are something most people take for granted, but the need for those essentials was evident by the long lines outside PEACE Incorporated Thursday.
Feed the Children brought truck-loads of supplies to hand out to 1,500 people. The program is based out of Oklahoma, but this is the second time they've come to Syracuse.
PEACE, Inc. Executive Director Joseph Edward O'Hara said, "They actually were looking for not-for-profits who are helping to improve the quality of life in communities across America. They went onto our website and read our mission statement and decided to select us as one of the recipients."
People who pre-registered were also able to drive up and pickup their donations. All recipients were members of Peace Incorporated's Family Resource Centers.
