BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The Binghamton church pastor who was criticized for performing same sex marriages has learned he will face a church trial.
Pastor Stephen Heiss could lose his job at the Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Church charges were filed against him after he admitted to performing several ceremonies, including his daughter's.
Heiss and Bishop Webb had 90 days to work out a resolution. Webb told Heiss the charges would be dropped if he agreed to stop performing the weddings and apologize. However, Heiss refused.
There is no date set yet for the trial.
