ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -A former fugitive that was arrested by Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies will not be extradited until 20 charges against him in Central New York are resolved.
Luis Dechoudens is accused of escaping a Kentucky jail, traveling to Onondaga County, and then taking part in a burglary spree in Clay and Salina. Prosecutors say he will also face charges for trying to escape from sheriff's deputies.
According to investigators, he damaged a restraining bar in an interview room.
After all that is settled, Dechoudens will be sent to Kentucky or Tennessee to face new charges down there. He is accused of shooting at a barge in Tennessee.
