UTICA, N.Y. -- Things are getting spooky around the Utica Zoo as they set up for the 26th annual Spooktacular this weekend.
Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday during the day, the zoo is celebrating Halloween. The zoo says the first two nights are scarier, and nobody one under the age of 16 can enter their haunted house without a parent.
Sunday is geared more towards kids with a hay ride, trick-or-treating and other activities. They say the best part is that you can be outside and celebrate with the animals.
"Beyond anything else, it is a fundraiser for us. And it does support 100 percent, right here, the Utica Zoo," said Executive Director Andria Heath.
The Utica Zoo Spooktacular runs Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The zoo is open regular hours on Sunday. Tickets are just $3 per person.
