SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Cuse Pit Crew was out on the streets Saturday morning hoping to find out who was responsible for a terrible case of animal starvation.
A $6,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who was responsible for starving Jax, a pit bull type dog, to death.
The group was handing out flyers in the neighborhood where Jax was found.
"You know this is something that goes on all the time unfortunately. It just so happens this is the case we've all decided to come together as a group on. The different entities to work together and set a precedent on and then also after that hopefully we will have people speaking up and if they see abuse, we want them to say something," said Stephanie Heath Higgins of the Cuse Pit Crew.
About 150 flyers were placed in mailboxes and posted in the neighborhood.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Syracuse Police Animal Abuse tip line at 315-442-5336.
Tips will be kept confidential.
